Weekly Tech Tips 29 November 2020

Dear Friends, Did you miss me? I missed you. I had intended to write an edition last week Sunday and take this one off, but just got buried in work last weekend and had to let it go. This week’s Tech Tips is more of a reflection on what education means to me and ways we can leverage technology in general to achieve goals that a lot of us have, but rarely get to work on.  Reflections / Articles of Interest Like many other teachers I am in the middle of a month-long online IB training course that the School signed me up for. Like some others in these courses, I do not really want to be in it. I don’t have time for it, and I don’t need to learn how to fill out the IB unit planner again. This is a perfect example of what is called extrinsic motivation. Weekly Tech Tips 15 November 2020

Dear Friends, I know what you’re thinking, it’s almost Christmas, what’s Scott gonna give me for Christmas? Well don’t you worry about it. I’ve been digging up some special treasures for you all. I continue to craft our Google Certified Educator prep courses and am aiming to have those ready for you just as soon as we return from the holidays. As Google’s Apps continue to change before our eyes I will endeavor to keep you apprised of any critical information that you may need. Weekly Tech Tips 8 November 2020

Dear Friends, I hope you had a glorious weekend. I love this season, so much so that I named one of my sons after it. There is something about the fall sky and the autumn air. Adding to the crispness of the air this fall is the wind of change. These are exciting and hopeful times. The kids are back and things are beginning to feel almost normal again. Yes, things are definitely looking up. This week I have nothing new for you, but I have some improvements. Thanks to Ms. Cindy Choi the Google Block Calendars are now complete with those crazy Friday schedules corrected. Cindy has made her blocks for the middle school schedule. I have taken what she has done and kind of generalized it. I have not deleted my old calendars and uploaded these updated sets myself yet, but I will soon. Again, any early adopters who spot any mistakes please let me know as soon as you can. Here is a zip of the corrected csv files needed to make the calendars: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1iPnJfS4H4e...
